Call for Artists and Artisans
Shamala Hamala — a creative studio, gallery and shop in Over-the-Rhine — is opening in late summer 2025. We’re seeking artists and makers to be part of our first exhibition and curated product collection.
We’re currently looking for:
Three featured visual artists for our opening gallery wall. We welcome photography, painting, collage, or mixed media — work that feels soulful, sincere, and visually striking.
A small group of artisans whose thoughtfully made goods will be carried in the shop. This could include handmade soaps, candles, paper goods, textiles, ceramics, or other small-batch treasures.
While the physical space is in Cincinnati, participation is open to artists anywhere. Shamala Hamala is designed to reach beyond its walls through the magazine, online offerings, and print-forward storytelling — allowing people to connect with the space from wherever they are.
We’re especially drawn to story-rich work: pieces made with intention, beauty, and a sense of personal meaning. If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear your story and see your work.
Send a brief introduction, 3–5 images of your work, and a few sentences about what inspires you to:
