Call for Artists and Artisans
Shamala Hamala, a new creative studio and analog-inspired shop in Over-the-Rhine, is opening its doors in late summer 2025. We’re seeking visual artists and artisan makers to be part of our very first exhibition and curated storefront.
We’re looking for:
One featured visual artist for our opening gallery show (photography, painting, collage, or mixed media—work that feels soulful, striking, and sincere).
A small group of artisans offering thoughtfully made goods for our shop (think: handmade soaps, candles, paper goods, textiles, ceramics, and small-batch treasures).
Although the physical shop is located in OTR (Cincinnati), participation is open to anyone, anywhere. Shamala Hamala will have a strong online presence, so people can experience and connect with the space from wherever they are.
For artisans especially, we’re looking for story-forward work — pieces that carry meaning, intention, and personal connection. We want to know why you create what you create, and why it matters to you.
Shamala Hamala is part gallery, part workshop, part cozy hangout—rooted in creativity, craftsmanship, and connection.
If your work fits the spirit of the space, we’d love to hear from you.
Send a brief introduction and a few images of your work (and a little about your story) to info@shamalhamala.com
